Supt. Mtn. Museum offers free admission to dads on June 17

Take Dad on a special outing on Father’s Day, June 17, and visit the Superstition Mountain Museum where all fathers will be welcomed with a free admission to the museum where they can enjoy a taste of local history, legend and lore.

Besides visiting the museum, visitors can also tour the grounds and visit the Elvis Chapel and the Apacheland Barn, the only two buildings that survived the 2004 fire at Apacheland Movie Ranch.

Both are full of interesting movie memorabilia, antiques and artifacts.

Walk the labyrinth or take short hike on the museum’s Nature Trail to get some light exercise.

If you’re looking for a gift for Dad, let him take his choice of the unique items, many of them handmade by Native Americans, that are available in the museum gift shop.

The museum is run by the non-profit Superstition Mountain Historical Society. It is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Its location is 4087 N. Apache Trail on Highway 88 beneath Superstition Mountain just northeast of the Mountain View Road intersection.

More information can be obtained by calling (480)983-4888 or go to www.superstitionmountainmuseum.org.
