Artist Bio:
Shawn McCann was born and raised in the windswept North Dakota Red River Valley and has been drawing and painting since the age of four. Having found the love of art at an early age, it naturally led to him attending the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where he graduated in 2002. As a successful children’s’ book illustrator and diversified artist working with numerous media, styles, and surfaces, it soon became obvious for Shawn that street painting was here to stay. Within Shawn's street paintings, the subjects range from music, landscapes, classic and modern reproductions, and event based themes. As a children's book illustrator, McCann has over a dozen titles to his name and has appeared at places like the LA Times Festival of Books as a featured illustrator.
